What is ring bits?

Ring bits are a type of horse bit that consists of a metal mouthpiece and two large rings on either side of the mouthpiece. A ring bit can be used with a variety of different styles of reins, including direct reins, split reins, and roping reins.

Ring bits come in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and copper. They may also have different styles of mouthpieces, such as jointed, solid, or twisted. Ring bits are often used for Western riding disciplines, such as reining, cutting, and rodeo events, but they can also be used in English riding disciplines like dressage and show jumping.

Ring bits can provide a more direct and precise communication between the rider's hands and the horse's mouth. However, they should be used with care and only by experienced riders, as misuse or harsh handling of the reins can cause discomfort or pain to the horse.
